Jeff Eliasoph
KWWL News Anchor / Reporter

I was born in New York City and attended high school there. I am the first of 4 children...sisters Laura, Diane, and Pamela. Diane lives close to me these days in Austin, Minnesota.

I attended college at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore where I earned a degree in political science. I played baseball in high school and college.

In my senior year at JHU I was offered an internship at WJZ the ABC station in Baltimore where Oprah Winfrey was a weeknight anchor. I fell in love with TV and chose journalism over law school. I then attended graduate school at San Diego State.

My first job was in Brownville, Texas where I covered President Reagan's visit and started an annual Christmas campaign for needy families. I went on to Shreveport, and then Dallas where I worked for 14 years and where both of my children were born. Vivien and Hannah ...yes more girls. I do have a male in the house named Snowflake - my 12-year-old Maltese.

From Dallas I moved to Austin, and then Cleveland. In both places I immersed myself in community service and volunteer opportunities.

Most of my career I have been a morning anchor so it is with great delight that I come to eastern Iowa to help wake up and inform the people of the Cedar Valley.

My interests include history, sports, classic films, and whatever my daughters are involved in. I have also served as an emcee and auctioneer for charitable causes.
