UPDATE: Second person charged in Hiawatha apartment fire

HIAWATHA (KWWL) -

A second person has been arrested in connection with an apartment fire in Hiawatha that broke out Tuesday night.

Paul J. Opperman, 36, of Cedar Rapids, faces first degree arson charges in connection with the fire at 285 Robins Road, unit B-6.

Andrew Damisch, 40, is charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and first degree arson in connection with the fire.

A dozen people were displaced by the fire.
