Premature birth has link to ADHD

Children born prematurely have an increased risk ADHD, according to a Swedish study.

Researchers there used birth records to link which children were prescribed medication for ADHD.

They found the children born the earliest, between 23 and 28 weeks gestation, were two times more likely to be prescribed medication.

Experts say just because someone is prescribed ADHD medication doesn't mean they have the disorder. And most kids outgrow it.
