Iowa City Police looking for robbery suspects


The Iowa City Police are asking for the public's help in finding three men they say robbed and assaulted another man.

The victim told police that he was heavily intoxicated and walking in the area of Stevens Drive and Waterfront Drive between 5:00 p.m and 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday when three men approached him.

He said the three men assaulted him and took his wallet.  He told police that they came from the area of the homeless shelter and asked him for money before they assaulted him.

Police say the victim received minor injuries to his face.

The suspects are described as two white males and one black male, all in their 20's. According to the victim, the black male was missing part of his finger.

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of this suspect. Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS (8477). All calls are held in strict confidence and anonymity is guaranteed. Individuals providing information do not have to reveal their identity to collect a reward.
