Marion man shot by police following domestic dispute

A Marion man is in the hospital after being shot by police following a domestic dispute Saturday night.

Marion police were called to a house converted to apartment just after 8:45 Saturday night.

Police say 41 year old Christopher Lang attacked three people in his home, including a woman who suffered a broken nose.

Police say Lang lunged at officers with a broken bottle and a hammer. Police shot Lang with a taser which did not stop him.

That's when police shot Lang in the right torso.

Police say Lang's injuries are not-life threatening.

Lang faces several charges, including three counts of assault, in the incident.

He has a criminal record.

The officer who shot him has been placed on administrative leave, per department policy.
