Iowa City man becomes Jeopardy champion

An Iowa City man can't say what will happen on future "Jeopardy" games, but he is celebrating at least one televised victory.

Timothy Kresowik won more than $19,000 to finish first in the winnings on Monday's taped airing of the TV game show. His next game is scheduled to air on Tuesday afternoon on KWWL.

The shows were videotaped in December.

The 31-year-old Kresowik told the Iowa City Press-Citizen that his goal was to win at least one game, so his victory was "really exciting."

Contestants are barred from saying how unaired games turn out, but Kresowik did say he did not break any record for consecutive victories.

Kresowik is a urology resident at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
