A Dubuque man faces several charges after he ran from police on Sunday night.

Officers tried to stop a vehicle around 10:43 p.m. Sunday near Menards.

They say the driver, 18-year-old Christopher McElhiney, then went into the Menards parking lot and was driving recklessly, nearly ramming the police car.

Officers say McElhiney then drove out of the Menards lot and headed east on Highway 20.  When he tried to turn south on Old Highway Road, he lost control and got stuck.

The officer positioned his vehicle to prevent McElhiney from fleeing again.

McElhiney was arrested and charged with Eluding, Carrying Concealed Weapon (brass knuckles), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and multiple traffic offenses.
