WATERLOO (KWWL) -- The Waterloo Black Hawks solidified their playoff position with a 2-1 win over Dubuque on Saturday night.

The Black Hawks win also gave Waterloo the season series with a 4-3 record against the Fighting Saints.

Dubuque opened the scoring as Shane Sooth redirected a slap shot past Waterloo goalkeeper C.J. Motte early in the first period.  That score held until the third when Tyler Zepeda scored a breakaway goal just 6 minutes in.  Justin Kloos scored the winner unassisted with 5 minutes remaining.

With the win, Waterloo clinched the 6th seed in the eastern division for the upcoming USHL playoffs.
