Jesup High School has school spirit. Do you?

There are numerous events at Jesup High School for the community to cheer about.  Nearly 100 students showed their school spirit live on Today In Iowa Friday.

Harry Bird III is the band teacher at Jesup.  He said it is always easy for the pep band to get the Jayhawk crowd excited.

"Really these guys do all the work for us.  It's really fun.  They like to scream and shout and have a good time.  The band students just play their hearts out," said Bird.

Along with the band, the cross country team has a lot of pride. Matt Hilby is the girls coach and this year received the District Coach of the Year.

"It was defiantly exciting and an honor to receive the award.  It couldn't happen without the work of the girls.  They came together at the end of the year and made it a great season," said Hilby.

The girls cross country team qualified for state by one point at their district meet.

Jesup also had two All-State Speech Participants, Sam Reece and Zoie Schares.  They also had two FCCLA National Qualifiers, Ashley Frisch and Andrew McGlaughlin.
