CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A Cedar Falls man will spend more than 20 years in federal prison for selling crack.

Robert Dale, 28, was sentenced on Tuesday to 20 years and nine months in prison for selling crack throughout Cedar Falls and Waterloo.  He pleaded guilty on November 5, 2010 to conspiring to distribute crack cocaine.

At his plea hearing, Dale admitted that he and Mark Hopper bought powder cocaine from a source in Mexico and cooked it into crack cocaine.  They then sold the crack throughout Eastern Iowa.

Police found more than four pounds of crack cocaine and two firearms during searches of their residences in September 2010.

At the time, Dale was still serving a term of supervised release for a prior federal crack cocaine conviction.

Dale will serve a 10-year term of supervised release after his prison term.

Mark Hopper was sentenced in March to 11 years and eight months in federal prison.
