Black Hawks beat rival Cedar Rapids 2-1

The Waterloo Black Hawks finally found a way to beat rival Cedar Rapids.

And they were able to do so when it mattered most.

The Black Hawks got a third period goal from Justin Kloos to break a 1-1 tie in the third period, propelling them to a 2-1 win in front of a large crowd at Young Arena.

C.J. Motte saved 31 of the 32 shots he saw for Waterloo.

Friday's win puts the Black Hawks 2 points ahead of Youngstown for the sixth and final playoff spot in the East.  Youngstown lost to Team USA Friday night 1-0.

The Black Hawks will host Muskegon at home Saturday at 7:00.
