Two injured in Jasper County crash

Two people were injured following a one-car crash in Jasper County.

The Iowa State Patrol says Michael Hemphill, 34, of Ankeny, was injured after his sports car went off the road.

It happened on Highway 117 near 108th St. North around 6:30 Thursday evening.  Troopers say his car went off the road, Hemphill overcorrected and went across the road into the ditch, hit a culvert, went airborne, then landed in the ditch.

Hemphill and passenger 28-year-old William Hemphill of Mingo were both taken to a Des Moines hospital.  No word on their conditions.
