A parolee from Iowa City now faces several parole violations after he was found in possession of K2, a synthetic form of marijuana, and other items.

Mitchell Joseph Kubik, 23, was found on Wednesday to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, K2, niacin and pornographic materials.

According to the report, Kubik admitted to using K2 every other day and admitted to frequent viewing of porn on his phone and computer.

The Iowa Pharmacy Board passed an emergency measure last year classifying K2 as a Schedule I drug that cannot be legally sold or possessed in Iowa.

Legislation is making it's way through the state capitol that would make the ban permanent.

Kubik was charged with 5th degree theft in Johnson County in December of 2009.

According to records on Iowa Courts Online, Kubik has been charged with crimes in Allamakee, Winneshiek, Linn and Johnson Counties.
