Hawkeyes look to play with attitude

The Hawks begin their second week of spring football, as they continue to evaluate personnel to determine who will replace the 12 starters lost from the 2010 season. With so many starters to replace, it is believed the Hawkeyes may fly a little under the radar when it comes to preseason predictions.

Hawkeye defensive lineman Mike Daniels says it's to the Hawks' advantage to play with a little attitude.

Daniels said, "The media is going to blow up certain things, yeah going into that underdog role because of our record obviously. You know that's good. That's fine you know we welcome it. It gives us more motivation, pushes us harder and the last time I recall we were in the underdog role we won the Orange Bowl. Love the chip on the shoulder, welcome it at all costs. You know Iowa guys play with a chip on their shoulder regardless of the situation."

The Hawkeyes conclude spring practices on April 16th.
