Bomb threat keeps students from school Wednesday

A bomb threat will keep students and staff in the South Tama County Community School District from attending classes Wednesday.

The superintendent tells us, a written threat was found at the middle school Tuesday afternoon.

Toledo police and fire departments responded, along with the Cedar Rapids bomb squad.

It happened after the end of the school day, so kids did not get dismissed early Tuesday. However, the district did cancel parent teacher conferences Tuesday night.

After talking with investigators, the district decided to close all buildings Wednesday. The high school will have after school activities as normally scheduled.
