Groundbreaking set for new Waterloo Catholic middle school

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Cedar Valley Catholic Schools will break ground on a new middle school Saturday at Noon.

Archbishop of the Dubuque Archdiocese Jerome Hanus, OSB, will be officiating at the ceremony for the Blessed Maria Assunta Pallotta Middle School. The school will be built adjacent to Columbus Catholic High School at 3231 W. 9th Street in Waterloo.

The Cedar Valley Catholic School system is comprised of Blessed Sacrament, Sacred Heart and St. Edward Schools offering PreK - 8 th grade; and Columbus Catholic High School. The Blessed Maria Assunta Pallotta Middle School is set for completion in August 2012 and will offer 6th -8th grade. The Cedar Valley Catholic Schools have a combined total of 1100 students and 320 full and part-time employees.
