FAYETTE COUNTY (KWWL) -- A woman was arrested after a Sheriff's K-9 alerted deputies to drugs in the vehicle.

On Friday afternoon around 4 p.m., Fayette County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of two suspicious people sitting in a vehicle on W-51.

After arriving on the scene, deputies called in a K-9. After an alert from the K-9, they searched the car and found marijuana, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies arrested the driver, 59-year-old Sherri Lou Lewey of Waukon for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies did not file any charges against the passenger in the car until the investigation is completed.
