Hawkeye wrestlers finish 3rd, Reader wins title for ISU

PHILADELPHIA (KWWL) -- Iowa's run of three straight national titles has come to an end.  Just two years after taking over at Penn State, former Cyclone Cael Sanderson's Nittany Lions unseated the Hawks as wrestling's top dogs.  Iowa would finish 3rd in the team race behind PSU and Cornell.

Iowa's only finalist Matt McDonough fell to Anthony Robles of Arizona State in the finals.  Robles, who was born with just one leg, took down the defending champ early in the first, while earning back points to jump out to a 7-0 edge.  The Sun Devil senior rode the lead to a 7-1 victory and his first national title.

Iowa State senior Jonathan Reader dominated Nick Amuchastegi of Stanford rolling to a 10-3 victory.  It was the first title of Reader's career.  Iowa State finished 20th in the team race.
