Community Fund to Rebuild Lake Delhi Formed

LAKE DELHI (KWWL) -- The Maquoketa Valley Alliance, a non profit 501c3 organization has formed a new group to undertake private fundraising for the rebuilding of Lake Delhi: The Community Fund to Rebuild Lake Delhi.

This new organization is sponsored and administered by the Maquoketa Valley Alliance and CFGD. These organizations exist for the exclusive purpose of developing and restoring assets for the community good.

The group is beginning a capital campaign and hopes to raise $3,500,000. A spokesperson for the organization says they remain optimistic that the Legislature will approve some state funding to assist the rebuild.  But they realize that funding will not pay for the entire project.

The community has already raised more than $80,000 before any formal capital campaign has begun.
