CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- A Cedar Rapids Girl Scout is being recognized as one of the top cookie sellers in the country.

Morgan Norem, 8, of Girl Scout Troop #8354, sold 818 boxes of cookies, making her the top seller in her troop and the Eastern Iowa/Western Illinois area.  It also places her in the top 25 nationally in the 7-8 year old group.

Morgan set her goal at 750 boxes and her dad, Keith, told her she would have to sell 30 boxes a day during the two-week pre-selling period.

"Morgan went door-to-door for 13 days until she reached her goal, and went beyond it," said Keith Norem in a written statement.

In a recent school assignment, Morgan was asked to explain her impressive sales ability.  She wrote, "Dad and Mom walked with me door-to-door. My mom is in charge of helping me deliver and Dad is in charge of helping me sell. I don't know much else other than you just got to keep doing what you set out to do, and do it as well as you can."

Morgan won an iPod Touch and three weeks at Girl Scout Camp as a result of her sales.

Morgan's mom, Kristine Norem, is Morgan's troop leader.
