Alligators invade panther territory, at UNI-Dome all weekend

Posted:

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- From the swamps of Florida, to the heart of the Cedar Valley.  Alligators are taking over where the UNI Panthers normally prowl: the UNI-Dome.

The reptiles are in Cedar Falls all weekend for the Eastern Iowa Sport Show.  They'll perform nine shows over the next three days.

"I've developed a show that travels around the country and educates people all about alligators with a lot of thrills, a lot education but also a lot of excitement.  You're going to see me handle an 8 foot gator that's trying to bite me." alligator handler Jeff Quattrocchi said.

These were wild gators until recently.  They were captured because they were deemed threats in their natural environment.  After this show, they'll be released to a reserve.
