Top Ranked Waverly-Shell Rock rolls by Marion 68-36

DES MOINES (KWWL)-- Top ranked Waverly-Shell Rock came in as one of the favorites with their undefeated record, but the Go-Hawks lacked experience as none of these guys had played at the state tournament before.

Waverly Shell Rock looked to keep their perfect season going against Marion, but the Go-Hawks struggled early as Tyler Fisher drilled the long ball. The Indians started on a 9-2 run, but the W-SR offense soon woke up as David Jordan's triple pulled the Go Hawks within one. Former athlete of the week Connor Coleman followed suit from downtown, part of 19-4 run as W-SR led by 8 at the break.

In the 3rd quarter Klinton Carlson provided a huge spark off the bench. That 3 put the Go Hawks up 13. Then just before the buzzer, Carlson hits from way downtown14 for Carlson, and W-SR went to the 4th up 20, and they'd finish strong. Coleman goes to the hole. He'd finish with 14, as the Go Hawks blow out Marion 68-36.
