Two arrested in Decorah meth lab bust


DECORAH (KWWL) -- Two people are in jail following a meth lab bust at a Decorah home.  35-year-old Valerie Burke and 36-year-old Bruce Divers Jr. are accused of possessing chemicals used to make methamphetamine and conspiring to manufacture the drug.

Decorah police officers searched the home at 804 Sumner Street Friday around 7:30 PM.  They discovered an active methamphetamine lab.  Officers cleared the residence, and arrested Burke and Divers. 

The pair are cited for Possession of Methamphetamine Precursor -- Lithium and Possession of Methamphetamine Precursor -- Pseudoephedrine, and Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine.  Further charges are pending.

Decorah Fire Department, Winneshiek County Medical Center's Paramedic Services, County Attorney's Office, Decorah Police - Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team, the Sheriff's Department, and Emergency Management all assisted in the arrests.
