Waterloo man pleads guilty to fake paramedic charges

WAVERLY (KWWL) -- A Waterloo man charged with being a fake paramedic has pleaded guilty to two counts of impersonating an emergency medical care provider in Bremer County.

Christopher Hill pleaded guilty on Monday. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

Hill told the judge that he carried a scanner to monitor emergency frequencies and showed up at  a car accident and an industrial accident. He said he was trying to impress someone.

Sentencing is set for April 11 in Waverly.

Hill faces a similar charge in Black Hawk County for showing up at a Walmart in Cedar Falls after hearing about a medical emergency on his scanner. That case is pending.
