Soda, sweet drinks may increase the risk of high blood pressure

Posted:

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Soda and similar sugar-sweetened drinks may increase the risk of high blood pressure.

A study of the diets of more than 2,500 adults revealed an increase in blood pressure for every sugar-sweetened beverage drunk a day.

There was no link between diet soda and blood pressure.

People who had more than one sugar-sweetened drink a day also consumed more calories in general, and had unhealthy diets.
