UPDATE: Anamosa teen hit by car in stable condition

ANAMOSA (KWWL) -- Police say a 13-year-old boy hit by a car on Monday is in stable condition.

Police say Reese Ehlers, 13, was hit around 3:35 p.m. on Monday while crossing the street at the intersection of E. Main Street and S. Cleveland Street.

17-year old Hannah Bonifazi-King, of Anamosa, was heading westbound on East Main and turning south on South Cleveland and didn't stop while Ehlers was crossing the street.

Ehlers was taken by ambulance to the Jones Regional Medical Center and then flown to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  He suffered a broken leg, broken nose and several cuts and bruises.

Bonifazi-King was ticketed for Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian which carries a $195 fine.

Police say no other charges will be filed.
