Printy named Big Ten Player of the Week

PARK RIDGE, Ill. (KWWL) -- Iowa's Jamie Printy snagged the final Big Ten Player of the Week honor for the 2010-11 season.

The former Linn-Mar standout averaged 30 points per game over the last two games of the season to help the Hawkeyes tie for third place in the conference and get a fourth seed in the Big Ten Tournament.

Printy scored 32 points against Illinois on Thursday and 28 against Indiana on Sunday.  She hit 19 of 32 shots over the two games and was 10 for 10 from the foul line against the Hoosiers.

Kachine Alexander was the last Hawkeye to earn Player of the Week honors back in November.

Penn State's Maggie Lucas was named Freshman of the Week for the second time this month.

The Hawkeyes will take on Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Iowa time.

The Buckeyes knocked Iowa out of the tournament last year with a two point win.  The teams split their regular season games this year.
