CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- The UNI men and women each grabbed a pair of event titles on the final day of the MVC indoor championships, but fell short in the team race finishing 4th and 5th respectively.

The UNI men were still mathematically in the hunt entering the day's final event, the 4x400 meters.  however, Beau Dielschneider suffered a hamstring strain during the 3rd leg and was unable to finish the race.

The Panthers picked up 3 of the top 4 spots in the 60 meters as football running back Carlos Anderson won the event in a time of 6.75 seconds.  Former Cedar Falls standout Justin Romero captured the shot put title with a throw of 58' 7 1/2".

The Panther women picked up a big win, finishing the meet with the title in the 4 X 400 meters.  Holli Hosch continued her dominance of the 800 meters by beating the field by more than 3 seconds with a time of 2 minutes 8.99 seconds.
