Washington man sentenced to 50 years in prison for killing wife
WASHINGTON (KWWL) -- A Washington man found guilty of killing his wife will spend 50 years in prison.
James Dean Blum, 71, was convicted by a jury of second degree murder on Jan. 7.
Police say Blum smothered his wife, 67-year-old Patricia Blum, to death after she backed the car into the garage on Jan. 11, 2010.
Blum was sentenced Monday to 50 years in prison, with credit for time served. He must serve at least 70 percent of the sentence before he is eligible for parole. He must also submit to DNA profiling, pay $161,084.23 in restitution and attorney's fees not to exceed $3,600.
