17th ranked Cyclone wrestlers fall at #13 Nebraska

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA (KWWL) -- The 17th ranked Iowa State wrestling team ended their regular season schedule with a 21-14 loss at #13 Nebraska.

Iowa State took the early 4-0 lead in the match when top ranked Jonathan Reader scored 1 16-4 major decision at 174 pounds.  The Huskers responded with 5 consecutive match wins to take a 17-4 lead.

The Cyclones got back into the match with wins from 141 pounder Chris Druin, Max Mayfield at 149 pounds, and 157 pounder Trent Weatherman.  The spurt pulled ISU within 3 points going into the final match, but top ranked 165 pounder Jordan Burroughs was too much for ISU's Chris Spangler as he'd win by major decision.

The Cyclones will next host the Big 12 Championships March 5 in Ames.
