Shots fired at man during scuffle

BLACK HAWK COUNTY (KWWL)--  Two men face weapons charges after a scuffle at a home in Black Hawk County Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies were called to the 4700 block of Foulk Road at 4 p.m. on a report of shots fired. The person living in the home, Karle Brooks, reported to officials that Larry Hoffman of Waterloo assaulted him with a knife. Deputies say Brooks had a small caliber pistol on him at the time. During the scuffle, officials say Hoffman took that pistol, and fired two shots at Brooks, then left the area. Brooks was not hit. Hoffman was later located in the 600 block of Peek Street in Waterloo and arrested. He faces two counts of Assault by Use or Display of Weapon. Brooks was arrested on Possession of Weapons by a Felon.

Iowa State Patrol troopers assisted Black Hawk County Deputies with the call.
