Price Lab parents sentenced on records tampering

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Three people convicted of falsifying addresses to send their children to Price Lab School in Cedar Falls were sentenced Thursday.

Todd and Kristi Eastman and Connie Bigelow were convicted of tampering with records last month. Two other parents were acquitted.

Proceedings wrapped up around 11:30 Thursday morning and the judge gave all three defendants the same sentence.

The judge told parents Todd and Kristi Eastman and grand parent Connie Bigelow to have one year of good behavior. Then after that year the conviction will be wiped off their record.

The three could have faced a much harsher sentence. The prosecution asked for all three of them to be sentenced to two years in prison.

During the trial, the three argued that school administrators told them to use false addresses to get their children into the school's residency zone.

Students from outside that zone have to pay tuition that can cost as much as $5,000 per year.
