UPDATE: Edgewood Road in Cedar Rapids back open

Posted:

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- The repair of a broken water main on the southwest side of Cedar Rapids is now delayed because of the cold.

The City of Cedar Rapids announced Tuesday morning that the northbound lanes of Edgewood Road SW between Culver's Restaurant and Wilson Avenue SW would be closed for four days to repair a water main break.  Public Works Maintenance Manager, Craig Hanson, says it's too cold to repair the concrete, so the repair has been delayed until Monday.

So, starting on Monday, the northbound lanes of Edgewood Road SW will close for four days as crews make repairs.

Drivers should use 33rd Avenue SW or 29th Avenue SW as an alternate route.
