DUBUQUE (KWWL) --  The trial for a Dubuque man charged in connection with the shooting of a Dubuque Police officer has been delayed again.

47-year-old Eddie Adams is charged with Attempted Murder, First Degree Robbery, Unauthorized Possession of an Offensive Weapon, Possession of a Firearm as a Felon, and First Degree Burglary for the December 2009 incident.

Adams was scheduled to be in court on Monday, but his trial has now been delayed to May.

Police say Adams and his father, Eddie Chest, robbed Knicker's Saloon and when Lt. Scott Baxter responded to the call, Chest got into a shoot-out with Baxter.

Prosecutors filed the Attempted Murder charge against Adams because they say he aided and abetted his father in the shooting of Baxter.

Chest, is already serving 50 years in prison for Attempted Murder and First Degree Robbery.
