DES MOINES (KWWL) -- Gov. Terry Branstad has ordered all flags in the state to be flown at half-staff Sunday in honor of a fallen soldier from Coon Rapids.

The Department of Defense said 26-year-old Army Spc. Shawn Muhr was in a heavy equipment transport vehicle in Afghanistan on January 29th, when it was struck by a roadside bomb. Funeral services for Muhr will be held Sunday afternoon at Coon Rapids-Bayard High School with burial at Union Cemetery.

Muhr was assigned to the 546th Transportation Company, 264th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 82nd Sustainment Brigade, which is based at Fort Bragg, N.C.

He is survived by his wife and stepson.
