UNI Women beat Wichita State 77-57 for 8th win in a row

WICHITA(KWWL)-- The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team shot 60 percent from the floor and scored 45 points in the second half to turn a five-point halftime lead into a 77-57 win at Wichita State Friday night in Missouri Valley Conference action. The win is UNI's eighth straight victory, giving the Panthers their longest win streak since winning eight straight in 1975-76.

Five Panthers (16-5, 9-1 MVC) scored in double figures, led by 19 points from Jacqui Kalin. Katelin Oney tallied 13 points, and Lizzie Boeck added 11. Rachel Madrigal scored 11 points, all in the second half, and K.K. Armstrong tallied 10 points for UNI. Boeck led UNI with eight rebounds, and Kirschbaum collected seven. Boeck and Erin Brocka each dished out three assists, and Boeck and Armstrong each grabbed three steals.
