UPDATE: Driver charged in Williams Boulevard crash

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- The driver of a cab involved in a Friday morning crash on Williams Boulevard near Jefferson High School has been charged.

A taxi was headed southeast on Williams Boulevard near 10th Avenue SW when it rear ended another vehicle that was stopped with its turn signal on.  The driver was waiting to turn left on 10th Avenue SW.

The driver of the car that was rear ended was taken to St. Luke's Hospital.  The driver of the taxi was not hurt.

Sgt. Cristy Hamblin says the cab driver was charged with Failure to Maintain Control.  Hamblin says weather and road conditions were not a factor in the crash.

Williams Boulevard was down to one lane in that direction for almost an hour while the crash was cleaned up and police investigated.
