More out-of-state students at Iowa colleges

DES MOINES (KWWL) -- More and more out-of-state students are bringing their extra tuition dollars to colleges in Iowa.  Federal data say only 8 other states relied more on out-of-state students to fill their freshman classes in fall 2008.  Non-residents pay an average 3 times more in Iowa tuition.  1/3 of students at Iowa State, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa are not Iowa residents. T 10 years ago, non-residents made up 1/4 of the student bodies.
