Panthers turn tables on Missouri State 60-59

SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI (KWWL) -- Johnny Moran hit 2 free throws with 5 seconds remaining as UNI avenged its earlier loss to Missouri State beating the Bears 60-59.

Anthony James led the Panther effort with 17, but it was Moran's heroics that sealed the deal.  With UNI trailing by one in the final seconds, Marc Sonnen hoisted a three that bounced off the iron.  Moran was fouled while attempting to put back the free throw attempt.  After the free throws, MSU had a shot at the win, but Adam Leonard's running 15 footer bounced harmlessly off the iron.

The win avenged UNI's home loss against the Bears when Kyle Weems hit a game winning 3 pointer with only seconds remaining.  More importantly, the third place Panthers pulled within a game of Wichita State and Missouri State for the conference lead.
