Cedar Rapids woman charged with 32 counts of fraud

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- A Cedar Rapids woman has been charged with 32 counts of fraud for allegedly stealing money from the Japanese technology company that she worked for.

Sarah Ann Godsey, 33, is been charged with 11 counts of bank fraud, 15 counts of mail fraud, 3 counts of access device fraud, and 3 counts of aggravated identity theft.

The indictment filed on Wednesday alleges that Godsey forged checks and made fraudulent electronic bank transfers beginning around October 2005 and continuing through around January 2007.

Godsey allegedly altered bank statements and mailed them to her employer's headquarters out of state to conceal the scheme.

Godsey is also accused of using three different credit cards with the intent of defrauding and using another person's identities.

Godsey faces up to 846 years in prison, a $28,500,000 fine, $3300 in special assessments, and 147 years of supervised release.

Godsey's arraignment is set for February 1.
