Washburn man injured in Black Hawk Co. crash

BLACK HAWK COUNTY (KWWL)-- A Washburn man is injured after two pickups collided in Black Hawk County Wednesday afternoon.

It happened around 5:30 at the corner of Dysart and Washburn Roads.

The Iowa State Patrol reports 46-year-old Curtis Damme of Washburn was traveling west on Washburn road when he failed to obey a stop sign and went into the intersection. Officials say he was hit by 22-year-old Matthew Dunkelberger from La Porte City.

Damme was taken to a Waterloo hospital. Authorities say he was not wearing his seatbelt. His condition has not been released. Charges are pending.
