While officers were en route, police were told that the cab was at the intersection of Benton Street and Gilbert Court and the suspect had left on foot.

When officers arrived, they were given a clothing description and found fresh footprints heading north.

Officers followed the tracks and found Andrew Griffith Lisle, 23, a half a block away from the cab wearing clothing matching the description they were given.

The cab driver identified Lisle as the man who stole the cab.

Police say Lisle had a blood-alcohol content of .228.
