UPDATE Man pinned between semi tractor and trailer dies

JESUP (KWWL) --  Buchanan County officials say a man pinned between his semi tractor and trailer died from his injuries.

According to the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office, the 54-year-old Steven Rasey of Whitewater, Wisconsin was delivering tile to a farm in the 2500 block of Benson Shady Grove Avenue just outside of Jesup when he got stuck in the snow.  When he got out to see if he could free himself, Rasey became pinned between the tractor and the trailer.

"That's when the accident occurred, where the semi or truck got stuck in the snow where they were unloading," said Sheriff Bill Wolfgram.

Before authorities even got to the man, the owner of the farm found the pinned driver and freed him.

The snowy weather made emergency response difficult for rescue crews.

"We came from the Independence area and it was slow going. Then getting into the farm itself, the drifts and stuff like that made it a little harder for the rescue vehicles to get in, but they were able to do so and get them out as quickly as possible," said Sheriff Wolfgram.
