Mom makes ice cream out of snow

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Most people make snow angels or a fort when winter weather hits, but one mom uses it to make food!

She makes homemade ice cream from freshly fallen snow.

She says her mom used to make it for her, now she whips it up for her kids.

It's fairly cheap and easy too: milk, sugar, vanilla extract and salt and of course, the magic ingredient - snow.

She says it normally takes about 5 cups of snow to make enough ice cream for a few people.

Experts tell us it's okay to eat snow in moderation, just be sure it is pristine and freshly fallen.
