Report: Robinson pleads guilty to marijuana charge

DES MOINES (KWWL) -- A Des Moines television station is reporting that former Hawkeye running back Adam Robinson has pleaded guilty to possessing marijuana.

The report says the plea was entered in Polk County District Court Thursday morning and Robinson was fined $315, placed on probation for a year and must complete a substance abuse evaluation and treatment.

The 21-year old Des Moines native was charged on Dec. 27, the night before the Insight Bowl, after a car he was riding in was stopped for not having a front license plate.

Robinson had been suspended prior to the bowl game by head coach Kirk Ferentz for not meeting team expectations.  He was kicked off the team earlier this month.
