Google offers online science fair


NEW YORK, NY (KWWL) --  A first of its kind online science competition is being offered by Google.

The Science Fair is open to students between the ages of 13 and 18. Students log on and use Google's online tools to make their submissions.

Judges include Dean Kamen, Vint Cerf, 1993 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Kary Mullis, and National Geographic geneticist Spencer Wells. Participating students have the opportunity to win prizes, such as an expedition to the Galapagos Islands with a National Geographic explorer, a 5-day trip to CERN's laboratory for particle physics in Switzerland and large scholarships and internships.
