Alleged victim testifies in Everson sexual abuse trial

IOWA CITY (KWWL)-  More than three years after former Hawkeye football player Cedric Everson was accused of sexually assaulting a University Iowa Student in October of 2007, he is now on trial.

In an emotional testimony, the alleged sexual abuse victim told her side of the story regarding the events of October 13th and 14th, 2007.

The victim testified former Hawkeye football player Abe Satterfield had sex with her against her will.   Satterfield pleaded guilty to lesser charges in exchange for his testimony in the Everson trial.

The victim said in court she was devastated to learn weeks later that police had evidence that  Everson sexually abused her hours after Satterfield did while she was passed out.

"I don't think there are words to describe it.  Devastated, violated," the victim said.

The victim testified she drank in excess the night of the alleged incident while on a prescribed medication.

She testified that as a result, there were significant parts of the night she didn't remember.

The defense will use this in part to poke holes in the prosecution's case.

Former teammate Javon Pugh also took the stand.  He said Everson bragged to him about the incident.

Testimony will continue Wednesday morning at 9 AM.
