CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- Two people were hurt when a Cedar Falls police car collided with another vehicle Monday night.

It happened at the intersection of Greenhill Road and South Main Street just before 9:00 p.m.

Cedar Falls police say Officer Kimm Froning was responding to a call with her emergency lights on.  She collided with an SUV driven by Kathy Halupnickin, of Cedar Falls, in the intersection. Cedar Falls Police Chief Jeff Olson says both drivers were taken to the hospital as a precaution.  Both were treated and released.

Chief Olson says they are still investigating the accident and no tickets have been issued.

Olson added that the squad car involved was due to be replaced this March.  He's not sure if the car is a total loss or not.
