Arizona tiger picks Hawkeyes to win Insight Bowl

PHOENIX, ARIZONA (KWWL) -- The Insight Bowl is just over a day away and beyond the non-wintry weather, Hawkeye fans have another reason to be excited for the game.  On Monday, a tiger at the Phoenix Zoo picked Iowa to beat Missouri.

The Sumatran Tiger, Hadiah, had the choice of two pieces of meat.  One was labeled Iowa and the other was labeled Missouri.  It took the 175 lb, 4 year old Hadiah just seconds to pick the Hawkeyes to win the game tomorrow night.

The zoo has done this type of thing before when the Cardinal and Diamondbacks were in the playoffs, but this is Hadiah's first go at predicting the winner of the Insight Bowl, and the zoo says their was no favoritism shown towards the tigers.

"The tiger was picked because she is beautiful but I promise she is very neutral. She does not know their is a tiger involved we didn't draw any logos she is just a fantastic animal," said Laura Hardwick, with the Phoenix Zoo.

Back in September, the Blank Park Zoo tiger in Des Moines picked Iowa State to beat the Hawks in Iowa City.  We all know that pick was wrong.  Hopefully Hadiah has better prediction skills.
