Christmas Eve traveling making headaches

WATERLOO (KWWL)-- Jacob Ledtje is headed to the Moline airport.

"We are picking up my brother. He used to live here. He lives in Texas now so he is going to probably be shocked to see all the snow.  He hasn't been back in a while."

We caught up with Ledtje just a few blocks into his trek to across the Iowa border into Illinois.

"The whole six blocks have been slippery."

He says he's really used to this winter weather and isn't too worried getting out onto the road.

Last year on Christmas Eve and Christmas, mother nature blasted Iowa with snow and ice making traveling difficult. This year the attitude of drivers are not much different.

"Make sure you have plenty of gas incase you run into the ditch," said Ledtje.
